Thanksgiving 2025: ‘Thank You’
As we look forward to the holidays, it is also a time to reflect back on the past year. Hopefully, for all of us, there were more good times than bad, more positives than negatives, and always the exciting anticipation of what a New Year will bring.
In all of that, at times I hear a common refrain: ‘Will we ever get back to normal?’ Whatever ‘normal’ was, as we may remember. It seems much has changed, and much seems to have been compromised. Almost any topic can serve to divide us versus unite us, and civility is a lost art. We are searching…
So where do we start?
There is much to do, and it can seem overwhelming at times. Yet remember the old adage: “Keep it simple”!
We can look at ‘Thanksgiving’ in two parts. Yes, it is a time for ‘Giving,’ as there are many in need. No gift is ever too small, and many times it is the ones who have the least that are the most generous with their time and modest treasure.
The other part is ‘Thanks’! Imagine if we all take a moment to express our thanks at home, at work, and in our community. While it seems simplistic, it is! It takes just a moment but can make a meaningful difference to someone — a bit of civility that starts wearing off the rough edges we all carry, one small yet positive step at a time.
So, I hope you might take a few moments to consider these thoughts, for reflecting on all those who touched your life, and how we can each enrich the journey ahead for others.
‘Thank You’
(pretty easy, don’t you think)!
